How to apply for Health Ministers Cancer Patient Fund (HMCPF) ?

Health Ministers Cancer Patient Fund is sub scheme with in Rashtriya Aarogya Nidhi which was set up to provide financial assistance to below poverty line patients.

This fund started with a corpus fund of INR 100 crores.

The eligibility criteria is specifically for patients who are below poverty line and have been diagnosed with cancer.

Only patients being treated at the 27 Regional Cancer Centers (RCC) are eligible for this fund.

Revolving funds of INR 50 lakhs have been set up at each of RCC which can be used to provide treatment to patients under INR 2 lakhs per patient.

In case the estimated cost is more than 2 lakhs, the case is referred to the Ministry of Health & Welfare, Government of India for providing funds.

Given below is the application process.

  • application form in prescribed proforma duly signed by the treating doctor and  countersigned by the Medical Superintendent of the Government hospital/institute/Regional Cancer Centre.
  • Copy of the income certificate.
  • Copy of the ration card.
